Head, Operations (Ref: LASH – HOP) \ Lagos

The Head, Operations will oversee operational activities (including claims management, Health Care Provider commissioning and contracting, and complaints resolution) and ensure efficient and excellent service delivery in line with the Agency’s strategy and goals. The jobholder will drive operational excellence, manage and liaise with multiple stakeholders and partners to ensure service performance goals are met, address complaints and resolve issues.

RESPONSIBILITIES
STRATEGY & PLANNING
 Develop strategies, plan and budget for operations; define operations goals in line with the Agency’s focus.
 Cascade goals in monthly and quarterly priorities and targets for all units within operations.
 Recommend, design and lead performance improvement initiatives.
 Provide expert professional advice on operations related issues.
 Advice management on operational requirements; identify present and future requirements in line with operational and strategic aspirations.
 Keep abreast of market and industry trends as well as regulations; distil current and future implications for the Agency and advise
management accordingly.

OPERATIONS MANAGEMENT
 Drive the implementation of operations strategies and plans; monitor and take appropriate action to correct deviations.
 Drive operational efficiency and cost optimization across operations.
 Manage the departmental budget and resources towards the attainment of operational and strategic goals.
 Establish, review or improve systems, policies, procedures and processes for overall operational effectiveness.
 Drive and monitor departmental performance; track and monitor KPIs.
 Provide periodic and ad-hoc reports to management as required.
 Oversee registration and enrolment activities.
 Review and approve panel list and capitation payment, and claims from HIPs.
 Provide technical input for actuarial analysis and underwriting.
 Define service standards; provide input for Service Level Agreements with HCPS and HIPs.
 Monitor and ensure adherence to service standards; evaluate HIPs and HCPs and give feedback and advice on performance; take appropriate
action as may be required.
 Review and approve HCP accreditation.

QUALIFICATIONS
 Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Medicine, Pharmacy, Nursing or a health-related field.
 Postgraduate degree in Management, Health Insurance or Health Economics.
 Membership of clinical/healthcare professional body is an added advantage.

EXPERIENCE
 Minimum of eight years’ relevant experience with at least three years in managerial capacity.
