Head, Finance & Accounts (Ref: LASH – HFA) \ Lagos


The Head, Finance & Accounts is responsible for financial planning and management towards the attainment of organizational goals. The jobholder will oversee finance and accounting operations including but not limited to budgeting, investments and treasury, and is charged with the development and implementation of finance strategies and plans, deployment and maintenance of effective control systems, and timely and accurate financial reporting. The jobholder will develop/enhance and implement systems, policies and procedures for efficient finance and accounting operations.

 Lead the development of finance and related strategies, plans and budgets in alignment with the Agency’s strategic direction and goals;
support strategic and business planning.
 Keep abreast of trends and changes in the industry, operating environment, financial regulations and legislation; identify emerging
opportunities and implications for the organization and advise management accordingly.
 Engage in the preparation of the Budget, manage the budget; monitor budget implementation, highlight deviations and recommend
appropriate interventions.
 Communicate, drive and monitor the implementation of relevant strategies and plans, and collaborate across functions to drive successful
 Build and maintain relationships with relevant stakeholders towards ensuring best outcomes for the agency.
 Make recommendations to management to better align operations with strategy towards achieving organization goals.

 Manage and optimize financial resources; prioritize and allocate resources in line with strategic plans and goals
 Provide advisory support on finance, investments and related matters; support decision making on the financial viability of projects,
programmes and investments.
 Develop financial business case for proposed investments; identify options, alternatives and financing approaches.
 Identify, monitor and manage financial and related risks.
 Assess, monitor and ensure investments are secure; ensure appropriate insurance policies where applicable.
 Define standards, policies and procedures to drive the attainment of organizational goals.
 Manage the treasury including cash and working capital management.
 Oversee Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) processes to ensure timely billing/payments and sufficient cash flow for the
 Maintain compliance with statutory requirements including but not limited to filings and reports.

 Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
 MBA or relevant Master’s degree would be an added advantage.
 Professional accounting/finance qualification will be favourably considered e.g. ACA, ACCA, CFA.

 Minimum of fifteen years’ relevant experience with at least five years in managerial capacity
 Experience in the health services industry would be an added advantage
